Requirements

Essential

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping, preferably with a focus on Xero

  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Desirable

  • Professional Bookkeeping Qualification

  • Experience in payroll

  • Strong IT knowledge, including proficiency in Excel

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Maintain complete and accurate financial records for assigned clients, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, and payroll records.

    Ensure proper coding and classification of all financial transactions to facilitate accurate reporting and analysis.

  • Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure consistency between bank statements and recorded transactions.

    Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements, for clients' review and decision-making.

  • Process invoices and payments accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring adherence to agreed-upon terms and conditions.

    Monitor and follow up on outstanding client payments, maintaining positive relationships and resolving any billing discrepancies.

  • Accurately process payroll for clients, including calculating wages, deductions, and taxes, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.

    Maintain employee payroll records, including vacation and sick leave balances, ensuring confidentiality and data security.

  • Monitor key deadlines, and ensure all regulatory filings to HMRC are accurate and submitted on time.

    Liaise with our clients to provide VAT, PAYE and CIS information and prompt schedule reminders to make on-time payments.

  • Conduct periodic financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
