JOB VACANCY
Apprentice Bookkeeper | 37/hrs
Are you a naturally curious, numbers-minded person looking for the perfect place to start your career? At HiThrive, we're not just about bookkeeping—we're about empowering businesses with accurate, actionable financial insights. If you're eager to learn, ready to roll up your sleeves, and excited about building a career in finance, we'd love to hear from you.
Why Join HiThrive?
At HiThrive, we specialise in Xero and pride ourselves on being more than just bookkeepers. Our clients see us as an extension of their business—their accounts department, not an outside practice. We don't cut corners or simply aim to meet filing deadlines. Instead, we focus on delivering accurate, up-to-date financial records that enable our clients to make informed decisions and thrive.
As an apprentice, you'll be joining a close-knit, supportive team who are genuinely invested in your growth. From day one, you'll be doing real, meaningful work—not just making the tea. We'll give you the tools, training, and encouragement to build a strong foundation for a long and rewarding career in bookkeeping and accounting.
Role Overview
As an Apprentice Bookkeeper at HiThrive, you'll work alongside our experienced team to deliver high-quality bookkeeping services to our valued clients. You'll learn the ins and outs of bookkeeping in a real-world environment, with full training provided on Xero and the systems we use every day.
Alongside your day-to-day responsibilities, you'll be working towards your AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification—one of the most respected credentials in the accounting industry—fully supported by HiThrive throughout.
Roles and Responsibilities
-
Input purchase invoices and receipts using Hubdoc, ensuring accuracy and proper attribution to the correct nominal accounts. Verify VAT rates and breakdowns, and maintain complete and accurate financial records for assigned clients.
-
Support the team with regular bank reconciliations to ensure consistency between bank statements and recorded transactions. You'll learn how to work with bank feeds and CSV files, developing the attention to detail needed to keep financial records accurate.
-
Assist with the processing of invoices and payments, and help monitor outstanding client accounts—all with guidance from experienced colleagues.
-
Build confidence in communicating with clients professionally, supporting the team in responding to day-to-day finance queries with care and accuracy.
